Events Since 1975
Since the devastating earthquake in 1975, Wynsfall has seen a surge in missing person cases and inexplicable phenomena.
The Forest Reawakens (1975-1980)
-
Following the earthquake, sightings of red lights in Wynsfall Forest became common. Hikers reported feeling a magnetic pull, and several described hearing whispers that seemed to come from all directions.
-
Notable Incident: In 1978, three campers went missing near Mistvale Trail. Their campsite was found untouched, with the fire still burning. Their tents appeared to have been torn open from the inside, and a nearby tree had a spiral symbol burned into the bark.
The Shadowed Eclipse (1989)
-
A solar eclipse occurs, but something feels wrong. As the sky darkens, an unnatural, chilling silence falls over Wynsfall, with not a single bird singing or insect buzzing. When the sun re-emerges, townspeople notice that the forest seems darker, almost as if the trees have grown denser overnight.
-
Several residents report feeling “drawn” to the forest during the eclipse, almost against their will, and a few claim to see figures made of shadow lingering at the edge of the woods. Local legend spreads that the eclipse “charged” whatever lurks beneath the earth, reawakening it.
The Radio Transmission Mystery (1993)
-
A local amateur radio operator intercepts a bizarre transmission on an old shortwave frequency. The broadcast is filled with static, but beneath the noise, a mechanical-sounding voice repeats a series of numbers and phrases: “They’re waiting for the door to open,”
-
The operator, a man named James Grayson, writes it off as a prank until the voice begins to whisper his name. Terrified, he reports the incident to the authorities, but no one takes him seriously.
-
James vanishes a week later, leaving behind a notebook filled with drawings of shadow figures and the forest. His disappearance reignites fears that something terrifying is stirring in Wynsfall.
The Clock Tower Anomaly (1999)
-
Date: September 13th, 1999
-
Details: The Wynsfall Town Clock Tower began to ring continuously at midnight, despite the clock itself being stuck at 12:15 AM. The bells rang for 13 minutes, during which time several residents reported experiencing “missing time”—moments where they lost track of where they were or what they were doing.
-
13 residents were nowhere to be found once the town gained consciousness
-
Surveillance footage from nearby stores showed people standing still, staring blankly, as if frozen.
-
When the bells stopped, the clock hands suddenly began spinning rapidly before shattering. Pieces of the broken clock face were supposedly later found embedded with symbols that glowed under UV light.
-
The incident remains a mystery, and the clock tower was decommissioned shortly after.
After the Clock Tower Anomaly of 1999,
Wynsfall slid into an eerie silence.
For nearly two decades,
the town seemed to breathe a sigh of relief
but the peace was only an illusion.
Statement on the Years of Silence (1999-2024):
Following the Clock Tower Anomaly in 1999, Wynsfall seemed to slip into an eerie calmness. For over two decades, the strange lights, whispers, and disappearances that had plagued the town for generations all but ceased. Life slowly returned to normal, and many began to believe that whatever haunted Wynsfall had finally been laid to rest. But for those who paid attention, the silence wasn’t comforting—it was foreboding, like the stillness before a storm.
Old-timers in town would often say, ‘Wynsfall never forgets, and it never truly lets go.’
In 2024, the quiet broke, and the darkness returned...
